Heavy to excessive rain is likely along the coastal areas of the Pacific Northwest on Friday, with winter weather likely further inland.

Excessive rainfall is expected to continue over the coastal Pacific Northwest today. A warm front with ample moisture will help aid in shower development. Rainfall amounts of 1-2 inches are forecast with localized amounts in excess of 3 inches are possible.

Wintry precipitation is expected over the Northwest as a weak disturbance moves over the region. In the western half of the region, freezing rain of a tenth of an inch of ice will be possible. Elsewhere, snowfall amounts of 4-8 inches are expected with amounts in excess of 12 inches in the higher elevations.
