Isolated severe thunderstorms will be possible Saturday across the Northern and Central Rockies; damaging winds and hail will be possible. For the Rockies, Plains, and Southern US, showers and thunderstorms will be possible.

A weak area of low pressure will move into California on Saturday. This will allow for a series of impulses across the Intermountain West. A slight risk for severe weather will be in place from the Colorado Front Range and into Montana and South Dakota. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main concerns, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

The risk for excessive rainfall will subside across the Southeast but showers and thunderstorms will continue across the Lower Mississippi River Valley. 1/2 to 1 inch of rain will be possible. Across the Northern Plains, heavy rain will continue to the north of a frontal boundary. 1.5"-2.5" will be possible along this front.
