An area of low pressure will lift northward across the US/Canada border through the day. Showers and thunderstorms will develop across the region with severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds possible across the Dakotas. Further south, the low progressing over the Southern Plains will continue across the Southeast with showers and thunderstorms expected throughout the day. Damaging winds and isolated tornadoes will be possible.

Heavy rain will continue across portions of Louisiana and Mississippi with 1-3 inches of rain possible.
