Hazardous Weather Outlook for Friday, May 30, 2014

Showers and thunderstorms will be possible on Friday with isolated severe thunderstorms possible. Hail and damaging winds will be the main threats. General thunderstorms will continue across the Southern Plains and Southeast.

An area of low pressure will continue to lift northward into Saskatchewan with the trailing front becoming nearly stationary across the Northern Plains. Along the front, additional showers and thunderstorms will have the potential for hail and damaging winds. Across the Southern Plains, showers and thunderstorms will continue. Another area of low pressure will dig through the Great Basin and Northern Rockies, bringing showers and thunderstorms. No severe weather is expected.

The low affecting the Southeast should weaken slightly. Rainfall from half an inch to an inch and a half will be possible with flooding continuing to be a concern.
