Severe thunderstorms will be possible today for portions of the Central and Eastern US; large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats. Flooding will be possible for portions of the Southern Plains.

An area of low pressure over the Desert Southwest will continue to progress eastward through the day. Severe thunderstorms will be most likely across portions of West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. Large hail and damaging winds will be possible.

Continued rainfall will continue across portions of Southwestern Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle, creating a flooding potential. Rainfall amounts will remain under two inches.

Across portions of the Carolinas, there is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms across portions of the Carolinas this afternoon and evening. Large hail and damaging winds will be possible.
