Excessive heavy rainfall and widespread flooding are likely Tuesday across the Southern Plains.

Heavy rainfall is expected over the Southern Plains into Tuesday as a cold front pushes southward and stalls across the region. With a very moist and unstable environment in place across the region, multiple rounds of rainfall will occur. Rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches are possible throughout parts of Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri with locally heavier amounts in excess of 6 inches possible. With the excessive rainfall, widespread flash flooding and flooding will be likely throughout the day.
