Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Wednesday across the Central Plains and Upper Midwest and across the Arklatex region.
Current NWS Advisories/Watches/Warnings in iMapPro
An area of low pressure moving across the Dakotas will bring a cold front into the Central Plains during the afternoon hours. Moderate instability and convergence along the front will allow severe thunderstorm development from Minnesota to Oklahoma. Any storm that develops will have the potential for large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.
Showers and thunderstorms from Tuesday night left remnant outflow boundaries across the Arklatex region. Daytime heating and moisture will promote sufficient instability for thunderstorm development. Isolated severe thunderstorms will have the potential for large hail and damaging winds. Most activity will diminish after dark.
