Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Tuesday for Central Florida. Across Northern Florida, showers and thunderstorms will produce heavy rain. Heavy snowfall will be possible for portions of the Rocky Mountains and Pacific Northwest. Moderate snowfall will be likely across North Dakota.

Florida: A cold front will move into central Florida on Tuesday before becoming nearly stationary. This will aid in the development of showers and thunderstorms across the region. Over central Florida, a few storms may become strong or severe with gusty winds and small to moderate hail the main threats.

North Florida: Further north over Florida, showers and thunderstorms will also be possible along the stalling cold front. While severe storms are not anticipated, areas of heavy rainfall may be possible. Total rainfall accumulations could range from 2-3 inches for this region.

Rocky Mountains/Pacific Northwest: Snowfall will continue across the Rocky Mountains and northern Cascades on Tuesday but is expected to increase in intensity across the region. Many of the higher elevations are forecast to receive 5-10 inches, isolated 15 inches, of snow.

North Dakota: Further east across the Northern Plains, a clipper system is forecast to move eastward out of southern Alberta, Canada. A brief burst of moderate snow is expected across portions of North Dakota, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. Accumulations of 2-4 inches are anticipated.
