Hazardous Weather Outlook for Thursday, September 25, 2014

Heavy rain continues along the coastal areas of the Mid Atlantic and Northeast, as well as just offshore. Moderate to heavy rain will continue for portions of the Southern and Central Cascades, ending late.

Coastal Mid-Atlantic and Northeast: As low pressure lingers just off the Mid-Atlantic coast on Thursday, heavy rainfall will continue over the region. The heaviest rain is expected to remain offshore, but 24-hour rain totals of 1.5-2.5 inches will be possible from the Delmarva up through the Philadelphia and NYC regions.

Southern/Central Cascades: Moderate to heavy rain will continue in the morning across the Cascades of southern OR and northern CA, then taper off in the afternoon and evening. Rainfall totals of 1.5-2.5 inches will be possible in the higher elevations.

Elsewhere, showers and non-severe thunderstorms are forecast for portions of AZ and NM and across the central Plains to IA and northern MO.
