Helping Business Weather the Storm

Hazardous Weather Outlook for Saturday, September 13, 2014

by WeatherOps, on Sep 12, 2014 4:07:29 PM

Showers and thunderstorms will be possible on Saturday for the Northeast, Eastern Seaboard, and Southwestern Texas.

High pressure builds eastward and over the Midwest on Saturday with a cold front finally expected to reach the Gulf of Mexico during the morning hours. Showers and thunderstorms across the Southern Plains will likely be relegated to southern portions of Texas and New Mexico with only a small risk for isolated excessive rainfall. Meanwhile, low pressure will lift across the Northeast with an uptick in showers and a few thunderstorms expected over much of the Eastern Seaboard and Northeast regions. Across the Eastern Gulf of Mexico, low pressure will gradually meanders westward and into the Central Gulf by Saturday night. While conditions are not expected to be ideal, a small window will exist for some intensification Saturday into Sunday. However, the arrival of the expected cold front on Saturday will likely hamper a more significant threat for tropical development.
