Hazardous Weather Outlook for Wednesday, September 10, 2014

Severe thunderstorms will be possible on Wednesday for portions of the Great Lakes and Midwest. Showers and thunderstorms are possible for portions of the Northern Rockies.

A strong low pressure system and associated cold front will bring a line of showers and thunderstorms across the Central CONUS and into the Midwest and Great Lakes on Wednesday. Severe weather chances are expected to increase as this low pressure system significantly strengthens, with the best chances for severe weather for areas from St. Louis and Chicago to Detroit and Cleveland. All facets of severe weather are yet again expected, including damaging wind gusts, large hail, and a few tornadoes. A moderate risk for excessive rainfall will exist with expected severe weather on Wednesday around the Great Lakes states.
