Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible on Wednesday for portions of the Upper Midwest; some may be severe. Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible across the Southeast.

While widespread severe weather is not expected on Wednesday, isolated severe thunderstorms will be possible across portions of the Upper Midwest. Low pressure will begin to dig into the Northern High Plains with isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms expected by mid to late afternoon. A lingering boundary will support a few severe storms with a risk for large hail and damaging winds. Additional isolated showers and thunderstorms will likely develop across the Southeast with the onset of daytime heating and the presence of a moist air mass over the region. On Wednesday night a cold front will begin to make its way out of Montana and into the Central Plains, but little to no precipitation is expected to accompany the front. Further south, the remnants of Tropical Storm Dolly will contribute to scattered showers and general thunderstorms across extreme southern Texas.
