Showers and thunderstorms will be possible for portions of the Tennessee Valley and Mid Atlantic; heavy rain and isolated severe thunderstorms will be possible. Thunderstorms, with some isolated severe thunderstorms, will be possible for portions of the Plains.

Widespread severe weather is not expected across the country today. Areas of low pressure along a stationary front stretching from the Tennessee Valley into the Plains will bring an isolated threat of severe thunderstorms. The main time frame for thunderstorm activity will be this afternoon and evening with hail and gusty winds the main concerns.

Heavy rain will also be possible for portions of the Tennessee and Ohio River Valleys eastward into the Mid Atlantic. 1-3 inches of rain will be possible, which may lead to some localized flooding in some areas.
