Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible today from the Central Plains to the Northeast; isolated severe thunderstorms are possible.

An area of low pressure and the associated cold front will continue to move across the Northern Plains and into the Great Lakes and Midwest. Isolated severe thunderstorms will be possible from Nebraska, through the Midwest and Ohio River Valley, and into the Northeast. With any thunderstorms that develop, large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Heavy rain will also be possible for portions of Missouri and Southern Illinois. Up to 2 inches of rain will be possible.
