The snow across the Southeast caused many problems yesterday. In Georgia, the National Guard was out in full force rescuing stranded motorists yesterday as well as this morning. Some motorists were forced to spend the night in their cars and some school children spent the night in their schools. As of 9pm Tuesday night, there were a total of 940 crashes since 10am that morning. These incidents caused 104 injuries and one fatality. While only 2-3 inches of snow fell in Atlanta, it was enough to delay or cancel hundreds of flights out of Hartsfield International Airport. States of emergency were declared in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
