By Wednesday, showers will move into portions of the Mid Atlantic and the Northeast as the cold front advances eastward. Behind the cold front, dry conditions are expected as high pressure builds in.

A cold front will move across the Northern Plains on Thursday, bringing strong winds to the Dakotas behind the front; wind gusts in excess of 40 mph will be possible. By Friday, light rain and snow will be possible across portions of New York and Maine as a cold front continues to move eastward. High pressure will build across much of the country by the weekend, allowing for mostly dry conditions. Rain and snow will be possible for portions of the Pacific Northwest early next week as a cold front moves into the region.
