Thunderstorms have developed across portions of the western Gulf of Mexico and will continue through mid-afternoon on Monday.
Numerous thunderstorms have developed across Region 1 this morning in response to a slow moving trough advancing across Texas. Conditions will remain favorable for these thunderstorms to persist and gradually move eastward through the day today. A few of these thunderstorms may become strong to severe with a threat for wind gusts in excess of 45 mph and isolated waterspouts.
No tropical activity expected during the next 48 hours.
A Look Ahead
An area of low pressure moving across the Gulf of Mexico will allow for showers and thunderstorms across the region and into southern Alabama on Wednesday. Rainfall also continue across the Pacific Northwest and into northern California. By the weekend, a second storm system will bring additional heavy rain to the Pacific Northwest.
