Sleet, snow, and freezing rain will be possible on Friday across portions of North Carolina and Virginia.
US Hazards
A fast moving low pressure system will bring accumulating snow and some ice to portions of eastern North Carolina on Friday. The heaviest of the precipitation is expected to fall Friday afternoon before tapering off into the evening. Snow and sleet accumulations of 1-3 inches will be possible in addition to a light glaze of ice. Across portions of Southeastern and Central North Carolina, snow accumulations from a trace to an inch and freezing rain accumulations from a glaze to a tenth of an inch of ice will be possible. Travel conditions may become hazardous, especially inland from the immediate coast.
