Moderate to heavy snow will be possible on Friday across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

An area of low pressure offshore is forecast to remain closer to the coast. Coupled with temperatures below freezing, moderate to heavy snow is forecast for a portion of the Northeast throughout the day on Friday. With the vertical lift provided by the low pressure system, total accumulation of snowfall over the region of 5 to 8 inches will be possible, with locally heavier amounts in excess of 10 inches possible. This band of snow will remain within the eastern portions of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and eastern Connecticut.
