Areas of snow are expected on Tuesday across the Central and Eastern Great Lakes. Heavy rain is possible along the Pacific Coast.

The area of low pressure across the Great Lakes on Tuesday will continue to lift to the northeast, with moderate to heavy snow possible across portions of Maine. With wind gusts in excess of 30 mph, reduced visibilities due to blowing snow will bring the potential for near blizzard conditions to parts of central to northern Maine. Total snowfall of 7-11 inches will be possible in parts of the state with locally heavier amounts in excess of 13 inches.

With westerly to west-southwesterly winds across Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, lake effect snow along the eastern shoreline of the Great Lakes. Heavy snowfall is likely with snowfall accumulation of 16-24 inches possible.
