Hazardous Weather Outlook for Wednesday, January 13, 2015

Snow is likely on Wednesday across Maine. Lake effect snowfall will be possible across the Eastern Great Lakes.

Thee area of low pressure across the Great Lakes will continue to lift to the northeast, with moderate to heavy snow possible across portions of Maine. With wind gusts in excess of 30 mph, reduced visibilities due to blowing snow will bring the potential for near blizzard conditions to parts of central and Northern Maine. Total snowfall totals of 7-11 inches will be possible with locally heavier amounts in excess of 13 inches.

With westerly to west-southwesterly winds across Lake Erie and Lake Ontario, lake effect snow is forecast across the eastern shoreline of the Great Lakes. Heavy snowfall is likely with snowfall accumulations of 16-24 inches possible.
