Helping Business Weather the Storm

National Weather Summary for Friday, January 8, 2015

by WeatherOps, on Jan 8, 2016 3:41:08 AM

Light snow is possible on Friday across the Southern Rockies. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible along the Gulf Coast during the afternoon and evening.

Snowfall is forecast across portions of the Southern Rockies within elevations of 4000 feet due to a tailing stationary front over the region with snow forecast to taper off into the evening. Total snowfall accumulations of 1-4 inches will be possible.

Ahead of the front moving through the Gulf region today, southerly flow will bring abundant moisture to portions of the Gulf Coast southeastern Texas and southwestern Louisiana. Strong flow aloft should provide for upper level support for strong to severe thunderstorms into the afternoon and evening hours. With the flow aloft, the primary impacts associated with any developing storm will be large hail and damaging winds.
