Excessive rainfall will continue on Thursday across the Southeast. Lake effect snow will be possible near eastern Lake Ontario.
A slow moving cold front will continue to generate periods of showers and thunderstorms across portions of the Southeast on Thursday. Rainfall amounts could once again reach 0.50 to 1.50 inches for many locations, with isolated higher amounts in excess of 2 inches will be possible. Due to recent heavy rains, an increased risk of flooding will continue for the region.
Lake effect snow is forecast to increase in intensity along the eastern shore of Lake Ontario, mainly during the afternoon and evening hours. Snowfall accumulations could range from 2-5 inches with locally higher amounts in excess of 6 inches.
