National Weather Outlook for Thursday, December 17, 2015

Heavy to excessive rain is likely on Thursday along the coast of the Pacific Northwest. Heavy winter weather is likely across the Pacific Northwest.

A well defined moisture surge is expected to push into the coastal areas of the Pacific Northwest as an upper level low pushes into the region. Excessive rainfall with rainfall totals of over 7 inches will be possible in some areas.

For the inland areas of the Pacific Northwest, winter precipitation is forecast into Thursday. Snow accumulations of 3-7 inches will be possible across the region. Ice accumulations around a tenth of an inch will also be possible. Snow is anticipated through the morning before transitioning to freezing rain in the afternoon.
