There is a slight risk for severe thunderstorms from Southeast New Mexico into West Texas. Excessive rainfall will be possible for the Southern Plains. Significant snowfall is possible for the Central Rockies.

An upper level low is forecast to remain over the southwest and will be the focus for thunderstorm development. Some thunderstorms could be severe as above normal moisture and cooler midlevel temperatures are expected. The primary hazards will be large hail and damaging winds, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

Thunderstorms across the Southern Plains are expected to produce heavy rain with 1-2 inches expected. Localized amounts of 2-3 inches and flash flooding will be possible.

Accumulating snow is possible across portions of the Central Rockies above 10,000 feet. The upper level low will aid in the development of snow showers in the early morning with 3-7 inches of snowfall expected.
