Helping Business Weather the Storm

National Weather Summary for Thursday, October 8, 2015

by WeatherOps, on Oct 8, 2015 4:34:09 AM

Severe thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rainfall is possible on Thursday across West Texas.

A closed upper level low over northern Mexico will allow showers and thunderstorms across the Del Rio region. The presence of the upper low will induce isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms, some severe, within an upslope flow regime of southeasterly surface winds across much of Texas. While significant severe impacts are not expected, a few of the stronger cells will be capable of locally damaging winds in excess of 45 miles per hour and small hail.

An excessive rainfall threat will also exist across West Texas. The stronger storms will bring periodic heavy rain and a risk for local runoff and minor flash flooding. Rainfall totals will range from 1-2 inches with locally higher amounts in excess of 2 inches possible.
