Helping Business Weather the Storm

Iselle & Julio Are Performing as Expected

by Steve Miller, on Aug 7, 2014 8:29:36 PM

Hurricane Iselle continues to weaken as it approaches the Hawaiian islands with estimated winds at the surface actually below Hurricane criteria at this time. Still, sustained winds of 70mph and rainfall of up to a foot on the Big Island are possible upon landfall.

Behind Iselle, Hurricane Julio is producing 105mph winds and is expected to maintain for about another 24 hours before losing some intensity. Models indicate Julio will move north of Hawaii but a subtropical ridge well north of the islands could steer the storm onto a more southerly route.

Hurricane Iselle and Hurricane Julio are two of the four hurricanes currently underway in the Pacific Ocean.
