A moderate risk for severe weather continues for portions of the Plains with the threat of large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes. While the tornado potential will be greatest near the front, away from the front the dominant threats will be very large hail and damaging winds. The main concern overall is the damaging wind threat, however, the potential for tornadoes, and possibly a few strong tornadoes, still exists. An upgrade to high risk may be needed later this afternoon.
