Helping Business Weather the Storm

Hot Halloween!

by Daphne Thompson, on Oct 31, 2016 3:26:51 PM

It's going to be a hot Halloween for a large part of the country today. In central Oklahoma, where I am, it is already in the mid-80s. In the south-east, some areas are currently near 90 degrees. Even central Nebraska has temperatures in the low 80s on this last day of October.

You know what's scary on this Halloween day? The heat! Just about everywhere in the US is experiencing higher than normal temperatures, as seen in this Frontier Weather anomaly map. Areas from the Texas Panhandle up to South Dakota are currently 15 degrees or more above normal for this date.

So, if your little ghosts and goblins will be out trick-or-treating tonight, make sure they are dressed properly for the occasion. Many costumes are designed for a chilly night out, those children will be sweating before too long. So, stay hydrated, take a flashlight and don't let your chocolate candy melt tonight. WDT wishes you all a Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween

Is that a moon or the sun? Hard to tell with the temperatures outside.
