Moderate to heavy rainfall is possible on Monday for portions of North Carolina and South Carolina.

An area of low pressure over the Southeast will begin to weaken this afternoon while it moves offshore. A small portion of the Carolinas will remain at risk for locally heavy rainfall through this afternoon. New rainfall totals of 1-3 inches will be possible. Ongoing flooding will continue over the next 18-24 hours before activity gradually diminishes or clears to the east.
