Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible today across the Central High Plains today as a lee trough is expected to form along the Front Range. This will aid in bringing warm, moist air into the Plains. Though upper level support is weak, there is sufficient instability and lift for thunderstorm development during the afternoon hours. A few supercell thunderstorms will be possible. If any thunderstorms do become severe, large hail, damaging winds, lightning, and flooding will be possible.

Lines of thunderstorms are expected to develop by early afternoon and into the evening along a boundary in the Southern Ohio Valley. Moderate to strong instability will be presebt along this boundary, intensifying ongoing convection. Small hail and damaging winds will be possible.
