Heavy snow is continuing across the Mid Atlantic and will begin to wind down by late afternoon. Where snow is the heaviest, snowfall rates of 1-2 inches per hour will be possible. Elsewhere, a mixture of sleet and snow is possible in some areas. Gusty winds will also allow for low visibilities and hazardous travel. As the snow moves out, strong winds will continue, allowing for the potential for wind chills below zero.
