Lingering snow across the Four Corners region will support additional accumulations of moderate to heavy snow through Monday night as an area of low pressure moves eastward through the Desert Southwest. An additional 4-8 inches of snow are anticipated with heavier accumulations in the highest elevations. Blowing snow and reduce visibility should continue to be expected as winds remain at 15-25 mph. Travel will be hazardous through mountain passes and roadways.

A second round of wintry precipitation is anticipated as a frontal boundary pushes off the Gulf Coast. With moisture from the Gulf overrunning cold arctic air, a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will likely occur into the afternoon. Activity will continue across West Texas and Oklahoma and spread eastward into Central Oklahoma and North Texas. Sleet accumulations across Southwest Oklahoma and North Central Texas will range from .25 inches to .75 inches. Localized accumulations of up to 2 inches will be possible across Southwest Oklahoma and North Central Texas. Snow is expected along and North of the Red River with 3-5 inches possible in some areas. The risk for freezing rain will remain possible across North and East Texas, as well as Southern Arkansas and Northern Louisiana. Ice accumulations of a tenth to a quarter of an inch will be possible.
