by WeatherOps, on Dec 10, 2014 12:21:56 PM

A strong storm system will bring heavy snow and blizzard conditions to portions of California. 2-3 feet of snow will be possible in the highest elevations of Northeastern and North Central California. In addition to the heavy snow, blizzard conditions with winds to near 50 miles per hour will be possible Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon. In some cases, ridge winds may exceed 100 miles per hour. For the Sierras, 6-14 inches of snow will be possible for elevations above 6000 feet and 3-6 inches above 5000 feet.
