Heavy rain and flooding will continue today for California. Light snow across Northern Main will transition to light ice and then rain. Moderate to heavy snow is likely for the higher elevations of the Central and Northern Rockies.

An area of low pressure off the coast of California continues to send tropical moisture into the state, bringing additional heavy rain. 1-2 inches of rain will be possible for the low lying areas. For the southern and western slopees, up to 5 inches of rain will be possible, in addition to flash flooding and mudslides.

An area of low pressure will allow for a series of disturbances across the Rockies. Moderate to heavy snow will be possible for the higher elevations of the Northern and Central Rockies. 4-8 inches of snow will be possible.

A trough moving through the Northeast is still producing wintry precipitation across Maine. 2-4 inches of snow will be possible before transitioning to freezing rain and then rain.
