Isolated severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, and localized flooding are possible today for portions of the Mid Atlantic and Carolinas.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop along the East Coast ahead of a cold front. With any of these storms, hail and damaging winds will be the main threats, but a brief tornado cannot be ruled out. Instability will remain limited due to cloud cover therefore widespread severe weather is not expected. Heavy rainfall in excess of 2 inches will be possible in some areas.
