A developing trough over the Western US will contribute to thunderstorms from portions of Kansas into Northwestern Missouri and Southwest Iowa. Moderate instability and increasing wind shear will allow for the potential for supercells capable of large hail to 2", winds to 55 miles per hour, and a low tornado threat. Severe thunderstorms will also be possible from Oklahoma to the Upper Midwest. Hail to 1" and gusty winds to 40 mph will be possible. Heavy rain from thunderstorms will be possible from portions of Missouri to the Arkansas/Oklahoma border. 1-2 inches of rain will be possible, but 3-4 inches of rain and flash flooding will be possible for portions of northern Missouri.
