Slight Risk of Severe Thunderstorms for South Dakota

by WeatherOps, on Sep 30, 2014 12:37:48 PM

There is a slight risk of severe thunderstorms for portions of South Dakota ahead of an upper level trough moving out of the Rockies. Ahead of the trough, daytime heating and moisture advection will allow for further destabilization. As thunderstorms develop, large hail will be the main threat, but strong shear will also allow for the risk for isolated tornadoes.
