Heavy snow possible for the East Coast this week

Heavy snow is likely for portions of the East Coast this week as an area of low pressure moves northward along the coast. Up to a foot of snow is possible in some areas.

Freezing rain will be likely for portions of Georgia and South Carolina through tomorrow morning. Up to half an inch of ice is possible, which will result in hazardous travel conditions and possible power outages. As this area of low pressure travels northward, heavy snow will be likely for portions of the Carolinas, Mid Atlantic, and Northeast. Wind gusts to 30 miles per hour will cause blowing snow and low visibilities.
