An area of low pressure over Eastern Canada will move to the east very slowly. Ahead of the cold front associated with this low pressure area, strong ascent will set up the potential for very heavy snow for portions of the Northeast, especially for portions of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. Some areas could pick up as much as 9 inches of snow in some areas, however in areas where lake effect snow develops (western parts of New York), some areas could pick up over a foot of snow.

Snowfall totals from WDT WRF model through 1am EST Wednesday

In addition to the snow, winds could gust over 20 miles per hour, limiting visibilities and making travel hazardous.
