KWCH Director of Marketing and Digital Media Shawn Hilferty wrote to tell us how much his Wichita Kansas station was appreciating having the iMapTracker on display and at work for them over the past two days of tornado chases.

“I wanted to let you know the streams worked like a champ last night. We’ve gotten great response from the viewers last night,” said Hilferty. “I believe we’ve change the game online in our DMA. Thanks.”

Tornado producing storms bore down on Kansas Monday and Tuesday, prompting KWCH to activate their top-notch Storm Team 12, consisting of 10 chasers whose locations, marked by a small chaser car icon, can be viewed directly on the iMapTracker Google map as they stream live video of severe weather conditions across the region. The KWCH12 Weather Center staff is providing daily coverage of extreme weather in Kansas using Weather Decision Technologies’ iMapTracker storm chasing technology to track and display real-time video of tornadoes on a Google Map.
